Namibia’s : into the wilderness

Chapter 1

For my very first article, I’ve chosen to talk to you about Namibia because it’s a recent trip that I’m eager to share with you, as it brought me immense joy.

As far back as I can remember, I’ve always wanted to travel to these distant and unpredictable lands. It all started one afternoon in a bookstore in Santa Monica, Los Angeles, where I lived at the time, far from my homeland: France, the Loire Valley.

It was while flipping through the stunning photo book « The Earth from Above » by Yann Arthus Bertrand that I felt the call of faraway places. This magnificent book showcases the most spectacular photographs one can imagine. I was completely blown away by the surreal pictures of Namibia. But life took me on many detours before I finally got to explore this wonderful country!

In fact, I met my dear love a year after I moved to L.A. We started traveling the world in the year 2000. Today, we journey with as much if not more enthusiasm! And life finally took us to Namibia a few months ago.

So, unintentionally, I’ve become an expert in trip planning. I spend countless delightful hours crafting our dream journeys, much like one would craft a delicious French dish in a Michelin-starred restaurant.

Today, I’m sharing a few photos taken with a simple smartphone that should entice you to get to know this country better.

Stay tuned! In a follow-up article, I’ll share my trip preparation and itinerary.
